Can fast charging harm the EV battery?

Fast charging, also referred to as DC Fast Charging (DCFC), operates at higher power levels than Level 1 and Level 2 charging. In comparison to Level 2 charging, DCFC exposes EV batteries to elevated temperatures and resistance. The extent of this depends on various factors, such as the thickness of your charging cables and whether your EV battery pack includes a thermal management system. Although fast charging may be necessary at times, it's best to avoid frequent use as it has been reported to potentially lead to issues such as cracking, leaking, and reduced storage capacity in EV batteries over time.
